But what does free mean? Tragedy of commons tell us how massive amounts of infrastructure which were built for public good saw their decline as they were not maintained. Who pays for open source?
In this session, we will define the meaning of free as used in open source. When it comes to open source licenses, there are many meanings of the word “free”. There is also a meaning of the word “free” which is not covered by licenses but by social responsibility. We will also discuss various questions around contribution to open source projects in general, Drupal in particular. Among other things, we will see how contributing to Drupal is beneficial to you and your organization, and how to get started.
