Drupal Meetup is now in Whitefield, Bangalore! After February’s meetup, we decided to try and discover more Drupalers in Bangalore. We always knew that there are a lot more people using Drupal than we meet in the meetups and we have also known that location is a big factor.
The overall process to install the server on virtual machine and configure it for Drupal development is still valid and you only need to change the OS version from Ubuntu Server 14.04 to the latest one now (Ubuntu Server 14.10 at this time). Also, I have moved on to using vagrant for my setups and will hopefully write a post on that soon.
Last weekend, Bangalore’s Drupal community came together for a code sprint to upgrade modules to Drupal 8. The sprint was held at Time Inc office in Bangalore.
Overall, I found it to be an even mix of easy and hard questions. I took 78 minutes on my test by being extra cautious that I was reading each question and options correctly. The devil is in the details, after all.
We are working to make each meetup better than before and build the PHP and Drupal community in Bangalore and around. We welcome speakers and participants for a wide range of topics on PHP, Drupal, Web Development, Project Management, etc…
We covered the basics in a span of about three hours. The event was well received and we are hoping to reach out to more people by the next training day in the end of August. If you are interested, join the group on meetup.com to recieve updates for the training day as well as the monthly meetups.
